Evelyn Ng Hand Analysis: Jamie Gold's WSOP hands
By Evelyn Ng

2006 WSOP FINAL HAND In the final hand, it seems that Jamie played his hand straightforwardly. I like him coming in for a raise with Q9 headsup, and Paul Wasicka didn't give him any resistance by not re-raising with 10 10. I do not like flat-calling with his hand, because he left himself in the dark when the board came with one over card (Q).

Pocket 10's is a big hand headsup, but I feel it is too vulnerable to over-cards to simply flat-call.

The flop comes with a Q, and Paul leads out a smallish bet, and Jamie moves him all-in. I think this was a fine play for Jamie, but a questionable call for Paul. It seemed that Jamie had not shown a history of bluffs, and perhaps Paul had gotten emotionally tied to this hand or he simply gave-up. I think Jamie played this hand great.
